Our Classes

In 2020, we saw the education system shift in major ways and we saw the homeschooling movement grow. I began offering these classes as a way to serve the other families in our area who were just starting their homeschooling journey. I was home-schooled as a child and only went back to public school because I felt lonely. I didn’t want the students in our area to feel that way. These classes are designed to give students a chance to socialize, learn from teachers that are mom or dad, and to support parents in the challenges that come with homeschooling.

Our “why”

  • Ms. Brenna

Brenna is a wife, mother of four, and teacher turned homeschooler. She received her teaching credential in Ohio and was a teacher with Teach for America. In 2021 the schoolhouse was born out of a need for enrichment classes. She is passionate about hands on and kinesthetic learning and teaching students to be lifelong learners. She teaches the history class, the littles group at Acorn Trails, and will be the lead teacher for Forest Friends next year.

  • Ms. Kallie

Kallie is a wife, mother of three, and teacher turned homeschooler as well. She received her teaching credential in California, taught fourth grade and has coached children of all ages in multiple sports in her own incredible program, P91 Athletics. She is also a former Homeschool Teacher with Mission Vista Academy. She is passionate about getting students into nature and learning through play. She teaches the older group at Acorn Trails.

  • Ms. Sayhge

She is a wife, mother of four, and a professional photographer. She has experience as a nanny and as a coach to multiple age groups, as well as volunteering every chance she gets for all of the student activities. She assists with all ages at Acorn Trails.
